Joe Morray of Trinity discusses managing legacy drawings; exhibits Documentum and Trinity software solutions to attendees
Knoxville, TN — August 26, 2002 — At an essential conference for regulated nuclear and energy industries, Joe Morray, president of Trinity Technologies, will speak on Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at 1:30 pm about managing legacy drawings as part of the plant information asset. This is an important topic because U.S. nuclear power plants are increasingly renewing their operating licenses with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for an additional 20 years. Critical to the relicensing process is electronically managing documents, records, and procedures. Trinity Technologies and Documentum will be exhibiting in Booth 20 at NIRMA Symposium, at the Marriott Knoxville.
In his presentation on August 27, Mr. Morray, who is considered one of the leading experts in the automation of plant information, will discuss how drawings are one of the most challenging document types that must be managed as part of a plant’s Information Asset. For a typical nuclear facility, drawings represent some of the most critical design basis and operational information and are typically in multiple file formats. These include scanned images/raster, vector/CAD, and microfiche.
The presentation will focus on how drawings are captured for an electronic control system, hybrid-drawing formats are combined, and an ongoing design basis system is maintained. Through its consulting practice in document management, Trinity has established methods for unifying and allowing effective access and control of these drawings and ensuring they are responsive to the continuing needs of the plant and corporate personnel.
In the booth, the Documentum Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform and Trinity software will be demonstrated. The technology solution is designed to control documents for the total lifecycle of the plant, while providing security, easy administration, and Internet/intranet access to critical data. As a Documentum Signature Partner, Trinity plays a vital role in optimizing and implementing Documentum for engineering and maintenance applications. Trinity’s expertise is in designing, developing and delivering Documentum-based system solutions that improve the quality of planning, designing and operation/generation activities.
As president of Trinity Technologies, Mr. Morray consults with operating companies in the energy, power, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals industries, to enhance the use of automation tools for the plant lifecycle. During his career, Mr. Morray has worked with some of the largest users of engineering information systems in the U.S, Europe, and Asia. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences and is considered one of the leading experts in the automation of plant information.
