Trinity Technologies’ DocExport Software Now Available for Windows XP
Software for Documentum Performs Tasks of Project Handoffs in Hours Instead of Days
Houston, TX — January 27, 2003 — At daratechPLANT 2003, Trinity Technologies announced today that its DocExport software is now available for Windows XP. DocExport enables quick and easy export of Documentum content and attribute information to portable media or file/server locations. The data can then be viewed and accessed by anyone through the Windows environment. DocExport is an effective way for companies to communicate, share, and maintain electronic files without opening access to their IT systems.
With the click of a few buttons, users can set up and export files, folders, or a Docbase in minutes instead of hours or days. One Trinity client reported reducing the time for document turnover at the end of a project by 200 percent. The export process provides an easy way to bulk export content and attributes while retaining the original file structure of the data to CD or other media for archiving and distribution.
DocExport is particularly useful for engineering firms performing project work for owner/operators by helping turn over project data in a format that is readily useable. DocExport is also valuable for regulated industries that have stringent requirements for passing
on documentation to meet FDA, NRC, and FERC standards. For example, DocExport allows pharmaceutical companies to easily export information for clinical trials and nuclear companies to facilitate regulatory documentation submissions.
DocExport works by enabling users to dynamically select options to define how and what information gets exported. These options include filtering objects, processing virtual documents as Zip files, processing renditions, processing all versions, and generating a database with hotlinks to the content. To increase the efficiency of locating specific exported documents, the user can search, sort, and launch documents using hotlinks created in a Microsoft Access database that is generated with each export. DocExport includes a set of diagnostic tools and reports to validate that all content to be delivered was exported properly.
