Image Integration Systems and Trinity Technologies to Offer Comprehensive Financial Inofrmation Management System
MDU Resources Group Selects DocuSphere/Documentum Solution To Automate Workflow Processes, Streamlining Accounts Payable Operations Across Multiple Locations
Perryburg, OH — September 8, 2004 — Image Integration Systems (IIS), a leader in business process improvement for high-volume transaction processing, and Trinity Technologies, a leader in configuring, customizing and implementing the Documentum content management system, today announced a strategic partnership that integrates two leading software products to develop a comprehensive financial information management system.
The integrated solution combines the strength of Documentum document management software with IIS DocuSphere Workflow. The integrated solution gives users the ability to automate workflow processes and capture and search relevant data electronically related to financial transactions such as in accounts payable.
The integrated system has been delivered to MDU Resources Group, Inc., a diversified energy and construction materials company that provides value-added natural resource products and related services in 44 states. MDU Resources uses an ERP accounting system from PeopleSoft, which serves the entire enterprise with processing deployed from three principal locations.
The IIS/Trinity solution and IIS DocuSphere Workflow are certified to integrate with the PeopleSoft ERP software, and is used to automate the Accounts Payable (A/P) workflow process. The integrated solution uses Documentum as the central document repository, greatly simplifying system administration and training for the hundreds of MDU Resources employees who will use the system and reducing the total cost of ownership for MDU Resources.
“Instead of having two very disparate legacy systems — an ad-hoc electronic system to store financial documents and a paper-based system for Accounts Payable — MDU Resources has turned to the IIS and Trinity solution for an integrated electronic system that streamlines operations within the Legal and Accounts Payable departments companywide,” said Warren L. Robinson, executive vice president and chief financial officer of MDU Resources. “Instead of manually pushing paper across multiple locations for review and approval, DocuSphere enables us to capture documents and route them electronically for review and approval, further automating and integrating the transactional processing that occurs within PeopleSoft.”
